John has been playing live and recording for 15 years including forming the John Lennon tribute ONOLennon. As a solo artist has supported Belinda Carlisle, Roy Wood, The Christians, Tony Hadley, Ronnie Spector,
The Zombies, Howard Jones, Bev Bevan,
The Searchers, John Otway and, for the past 9 years, The Counterfeit Stones.
His Hobbies include South Asian cinema, reading Viz & cooking.

When he's not playing in the Naked Beatles, McCarthy records songs and learns new instruments.
