And In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make... (Paul Mccartney)
Mike Surman is a solo artist performing songs with full music backing from the 60s to the 90s from performers such as The Kinks, The Beatles, The Monkees, The Jam, The Rolling Stones and also northern soul, motown, rock ‘n’ roll and R‘n’B. Since 2001 he has performed solo in pubs & clubs, special occasion functions and supporting Top Ten artists such as Roy Wood, Howard Jones, Belinda Carlisle, The Christians & Tony Hadley. Also for the last three years Mike has supported the Counterfeit Stones on their every visit to beautiful Wolverhampton playing to packed houses with only his voice, guitar and bad jokes But where did it begin? Let me take you down....
Born in 1973 the Chinese year of the Ox and the release of the Exorcist surrounded by a family who listened to & performed pop, jazz, folk & reggae music. Mike's earliest memories were of his Grandfather playing Harmonica & his uncle playing guitar in local pubs. At the age of 15 Mike obtained his own guitar & later keyboard spending many late nights in practice. He then went on to perform in bands & duos with his uncle until 2000 when he formed Acoustic Highway, a duo with just two guitars and Mike on lead vocals for the first time.
Deciding to go it alone in 2001 he started to get regular bookings with a reputation of being a reliable performer with a strong voice and quality set ups and music to suit all tastes.... Then in June 2001 an opportunity to support Roy Wood (a life long hero) on his 30th anniversary came. After a solid guitar & vocal only performance he was established and the diary started to fill up!
Since that night Mike has supported
Ronnie Spector from the Ronnettes
